BREAKING: 500,000 New Immigrants in 2025 – Canada’s New Immigration Levels Plan Revealed

Canada sets optimistic targets in its recent Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025. 

Canada’s immigration Levels Plan highlights its immigration objectives for the next three years. Canada welcomes new immigrants to support its economy, reunite families, and offer refuge to asylum seekers.

In 2021, Canada welcomed 405,000 new immigrants surpassing previous years’ figures. In 2022, the country is expecting to receive 432,000 new immigrants.

As per the new Immigration Levels Plan, Canada aims to welcome 500,000 new immigrants in 2025. The year-wise break-up is as below:

2023- 465,0002024- 485,0002025- 500,000

Higher targets for Express Entry and PNP immigration

Canada’s Economic Class programs are major drivers of its immigration through the Express Entry system and Provincial Nominee Programs.

The Provincial Nominee Program will continue to serve as the main immigration driver in the new Immigration Levels Plan for 2023-2025.

The year-wise PNP immigration targets are:

2023 – 105,5502024 – 110,0002025 – 117,500

The objectives for Express Entry will be as below:

2023 – 82,8802024 – 109,0202025 – 114,000

Family Class Sponsorship targets to rise

The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) commits to bringing families together through the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) and Family Class Immigration programs. The yearly target for Spouses, Partners, and Children sponsorship is 80,000 new immigrants in the new Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025.

The following are year-wise targets for the Parents and Grandparents Program:

2023 – 28,5002024 – 34,5002025 – 36,000

IRCC to lower humanitarian class immigration

The new Immigration Levels Plan sets targets to bring refugees fleeing their countries because of uncertainties and hardships. 

The present scenario of humanitarian class immigration underlines Canada’s strong commitment to supporting refugees. There will be a slight reduction in the overall number of immigrants under the humanitarian class in 2025.

2023 – 76,000

2024 – 76,000

2025 – 72,750
