Family Sponsorship

Family Sponsorship

The Canadian government stresses the importance of keeping families together and united. The Canadian Family Sponsorship Program aims to reunite family members of immigrants through a prioritized process. The program allows the Canadian family member to sponsor their spouse/common-law partner/conjugal partner, dependent child, adopted child, parents, and grandparents.

If the sponsor and applicant are both in Canada, the applicant can submit an ‘in Canada’ sponsorship request. If the applicant lives outside Canada, the application must be addressed to the relevant visa office.

There are important differences between the two routes. That’s why a consultation with experienced immigration is necessary.
