Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship

Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship

Under the Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship Program, Canadian citizens and permanent residents are allowed to sponsor their parents and grandparents in their immigration efforts. Those approved under this program are eligible to become Canadian permanent residents and may apply for Canadian citizenship eventually.

If you had made an application and the Canadian government invites you to apply, you will have to make two applications which will be submitted and reviewed by the authorities:

  • The sponsorship application
  • The permanent residence application

On approval of both the applications, you have to sign an agreement which is an undertaking. Its validity begins when the sponsored persons become permanent residents of Canada.
