Refugee & Asylum

Refugee & Asylum

Individuals forced to flee their home country fearing persecution due to various reasons such as race, religion, politics, social, sexual orientation, or nationality, may apply for protection in Canada under the Refugee and Asylum program.

If you wish to enter and settle in Canada using this program, you must present yourself at the Canadian port of Entry, an inland Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), or Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and claim asylum. The relevant authority will analyze your claim to determine your eligibility to claim asylum.

You must provide proof of prosecution in your country. You will also have to submit for biometric, biographic, security, and criminality checks before you qualify for refugee status in Canada. The PNPs offer the fastest route to economic immigration for individual foreign applicants.
