Sean Fraser Presented a Strategy on September 20 to Help Canadian Temporary Residents Desiring to Gain Permanent Residency Status.

The immigration minister of Canada tabled a policy to enable a higher number of temporary
residents to gain permanent residency.

The Canadian Immigration Minister, Sean Fraser, presented the new strategy on September 20, during routine proceedings. The new approach addresses chronic labor shortages by increasing permanent residency transitions of temporary foreign workers and students with remarkable work experience in relevant industry sectors.

The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will adopt the five-pillar approach of the new strategy to enable the transition of temporary residents to permanent residents. The five pillars are:

The government will incorporate the current objective of welcoming 431,645 immigrants as per the Immigration Levels Plan for 2022-2024. The immigration minister will table the new Immigration Levels plan for 20230-2025 before November 16. IRCC to invite candidates to fulfill economic objectives by reforming the Express Entry system. As per the earlier statement, IRCC will begin the fresh Express Entry draws in early 2023. Adopting NOC 2021 by IRCC on November 16 will include sixteen new occupations by removing three existing occupations presently eligible for Express Entry. The government will encourage the transition of essential workers by improving access to information, connecting high-demand workers to federal and territorial immigration pathways, and removing roadblocks for physicians. It also aims to boost PR pathways for agri-food workers and caregivers by improving pilot programs. The addition of the new Municipal Nominee program by the government will increase the number of French immigrants outside Quebec.Modernization of the immigration system, better client experience, and improving the processing capacity to expedite immigration
